I've finally gotten around to the pictures from the wedding.
We're starting off on a sad note though. My aunt and her husband knew that they were going to get married for a quite a while, and they wanted to set the date for a time that was soon, but also worked with their busy schedules. Part of this is due to the fact that my grandparents and the groom's parents were both getting older, and they wanted their parents to be there. That didn't happen.
The date for the wedding was set, and we thought that all four parents would be able to make it. However, my grandmother passed away this last Thanksgiving. It was very sudden and unexpected, as she wasn't really sick before it happened. It was just a cold that went terribly terribly wrong. However, my grandfather was still doing well and was still planning to attend (he actually officiated the wedding, I may be posting a picture of him later), as were the groom's parents. And then five days before the wedding, the groom's mother passed away.
I don't really know if she was sick beforehand, but I think they knew that she wasn't going to be around much longer. The wedding was bitter sweet for everyone, because we all expected her to be there. They didn't even have time to change the program to say that she'd passed. But they decided to honor her in the same way that they had planned to honor my grandmother. The groom's aunt walked up to take her seat in the front row, and brought this flower with her to place on the chair that the groom's mother would have sat in. The groom's father sat in the chair right next to this one.
